Back to Basics:Differences in Dining Plan

What's the differences in the Disney Dining Plans?

One of the first things that people ask me when they are considering whether or not to get on the Dining Plan is whether or not it is worth it. I absolutely recommend the dining plan. We love it! I think it is worth the money and it gives your vacation an all-inclusive feel. After you get there all you have to spend is money of tips and souvenirs.

Food is one of the funnest parts of Walt Disney World, not to mention DELICIOUS! I always joke that if it wasn't for the food I wouldn't be able to get my husband to keep going back!

Quick Service Dining Plan:
Two Quick Service Meals per person, per night
One snack per person, per night
One Resort Refillable Mug per person, per package

2 Quick Service Meals
One entree, one dessert (lunch/dinner only), and one non-alcoholic beverage OR one combo meal
1 Snack Options
Examples of snacks: one frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle, fruit bar, popcorn scoop (single-serving box), single-serving bag of snacks, single piece of whole fruit, 20-oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani water, medium fountain soft drink, 12-oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea, single-serving prepackaged milk or juice. There are times when we will use one of our snack credits when we are very thirsty in the parks. But truthfully you can get much bigger things than a bottle of water with a snack credit. But I refuse to buy a bottle of water when I have snack credits!
Resort Refillable Drink Mug 1 per person, per package. These are great souvenirs. I always complain about how small they are though. If you go down and fill it up it is empty by the time that you get back to your room! You are only allowed to use the mug at YOUR resort and for your current stay only. (In other words, don't try and use it on your next trip!)

Everyone in the room must be on the same package and ticket options. All passes must be used within 14 days of first use, unless the No Expiration option is purchased.

Meal plans must be purchased for the entire length of your stay and for your entire party.

1 Table-Service meal can be exchanged for 1 Character Dining Experience (Note that some Character meals require 2 Table-Service Meal exchanges.)

2 Table-Service meals may also be exchanged for one of the following: 1 Cinderella's Royal Table Dining Experience, 1 Signature Dining Experience, 1 Disney Dinner Show (category 2 or 3 seating at 5:00 or 7:30 pm shows, Cat 1 at 9:30 pm shows), or 1 Private Dining Meal.

Pizza Delivery: 2 adult table-service meals can be exchanged at Value and Moderate resorts for one 16" pizza.

2 adult Table-Service meal entitlements may be exchanged for 1 Candlelight Dinner Package.

4 Table-Service meal entitlements may be exchanged for 1 Pizza Service (16" pizza, 2 beverages, 2 appetizers, 2 desserts) at Deluxe resorts.

Deluxe Dining Plan: This is the one that we always use because we love the Signature Restaruants, so what we do is one table breakfast and then a signature dinner. Although we could have 3 meals we only do two a day. We never go to Walt Disney World without going to a show such as Hoop Dee Doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ and we love California Grill and Jiko so the Deluxe Plan fits us best!
For each night of your package stay you will enjoy three meals per person of any combination of Table Service or Quick Service dining which includes:

Table Service Meal
Adult: One appetizer, one entree, one dessert (lunch/dinner only) and one non-alcoholic beverage OR one full buffet
Child: One appetizer, one entree, one dessert (lunch/dinner only) and one non-alcoholic beverage OR one full buffet
Quick Service Meal One entree, one dessert (lunch/dinner only), and one non-alcoholic beverage OR one combo meal

Meal entitlements for children ages 3-9 are not transferable to adult guests in the party ages 10 and up.

Everyone in the room must be on the same package and ticket options. All passes must be used within 14 days of first use, unless the No Expiration option is purchased.

ONE IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND THE BASIC PLAN IS THAT EVERYONE GETS AN APPETIZER!
