Fantasyland and Costumes

Even the costumes are a part of the magic when it comes to Walt Disney World and the new Fantasyland Expansion!

It is no secret that every Disney "land" has their own costume and it is a huge "no-no" to be found in costume in the wrong location. (For example, you shouldn't see a Jungle Cruise skipper walking through Fantasyland.) This is just one of the reasons that I love Disney! I love how involved they get with every last detail of everything that they do. It is awesome to hear them speak about the thoughts and reasons behind the costumes that they chose.

I am so excited for the Fantasyland expansion!

  1. What's the latest on the Fantasyland final opening date? We're planning our next big trip for sometime in the next two years and want to go with as much of Fantasyland open as possible (my hubs isn't keen on a return trip after this one for a long time). I want to get the biggest bang as possible, while not going during peak season.

  2. The expansion's final opening date is said to be late 2013 but everything has already been set back several times so I wouldn't count on it. I would suggest going in late 2014 to assure that everything is open!

    Here is the timeline:
Early 2012: Half of Storybook circus with Double Dumbo, Great Goofini coaster, Fantasyland Train Station and Casey Jr.

Late 2012: Under the Sea~Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Beauty and the Beast Village, Belle meet-and-greet, Castle wall

Early 2013: Remaining half of Storybook Circus with Pete’s Silly Slideshow

Late 2013: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster
