Is "FREE DINING" too good to be true?

A lot of people who hear "FREE DINING" and Disney want to know what exactly that means and "Is it really FREE?" Well the answer depends on what Dining Plan you are used to as well as where you plan to stay. It also means if you are going during FREE DINING, you will pay full price for your room and you will ABSOLUTELY have to make your dining reservations ASAP because they will go FAST!

Disney has just released FREE DINING for Disney Visa holders during stays in September. Historically, a general public FREE DINING discount will be offered soon but I can't say that 100% for sure.

So what exactly does the FREE DINING mean? Well if you are staying in a Disney Value Resort you will get the QUICK SERVICE DINING PLAN FREE, if you are staying in a Value or Moderate resort you get the BASIC DINING PLAN MEAL FREE. If you are staying in a Value Resort and want the BASIC DINING PLAN, you will only have to pay the difference in price which is about $20 per adult, for each night of your stay and about $5 for each child each night of your stay. So you are still getting a discount. If you are DELUXE DINING PLAN lovers then it is the same case, you will be paying the difference between the REGULAR DINING PLAN and the DELUXE DINING PLAN, depending on where you are staying.

Currently Disney has released FREE DINING for Disney Visa cardholders only, the rumor is March 5th will be the day it opens for the General Public!

  1. Krystin-Who would I write to about asking Disney to consider allowing people staying at Disney, but not on property, to be able to purchase a dining plan. i.e......Staying at Shades of Green.
    Thanks!

  2. I would suggest that you fill out this guest relations form. You should always get a reply! I definitely think places like Shades of Green! Good Luck!
