Let me start by telling you that this dinner show is only offered in certain months and on Thursdays and Saturdays. It will also cost you 2 table service credits on your Disney Dining Plan. It is located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and campground which can be a little bit of a pain to get to. Also, you will need to get tickets for this even from your resort concierge. Be sure to make reservations because this fills up fast, it will require a credit card hold, like all the other character meals.
Another preface, this event is outside, under a pavilion so weather is a factor. While I was not hot sitting there eating this is not a cold, air conditioned restaurant. And if the weather is really nasty they can cancel the show.
We took the boat from the Contemporary over to Fort Wilderness Campground and followed the signs to the pavilion. We were starving! Once we checked in we entered this line to get in, it was long but right at 6:30 (when the show started) they started letting us in and the line went really fast.
| Approaching the pavilion. They had host/hostesses who showed us where to sit. |
| Our view of the stage from our seat. |
DESSERT: Unlimited Mickey Bars!!! And other Ice Cream!!! As you can see from these pictures, Klarabelle enjoyed her Mickey Bar!
The Entertainment: If you don't like country music, then is probably not the place for you.
There is the main stage dance floor and then two little separate ones where the characters go and dance, they alternate each song. We had a small dance floor right next to us, it was awesome! The following are just a bunch of pictures of us enjoying the music and fun. They have a band that plays country music. They also have a guy who does rope tricks but I failed to get a picture of him. He was really good and the kids enjoyed him, even my 17 year old sister thought he was pretty cool!
Overall, we truly love Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. We like the entertainment, food and atmosphere. If you have any questions about the meal, just give me a holler and I would like to answer them for you!
