Disney Food Facts: The Canyon Skillet

It's time to time spotlight one of the many great meal options at Disney!

This one is featured at a restaurant in of my favorite hotels, Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Check it out-

This food option is just like your drink- you can get it refilled for free!

Read on to find out how you can experience this delectable dish- you might be surprised at the price!

Also, a fun surprise you'll only find at Whispering Canyon.

You can find the " Canyon Skillet" at Whispering Canyon Cafe, in Disney's Wilderness Lodge- it's just off to the left once you enter the hotel.

Here's what you'll find in the Canyon Skillet-

Smoked pork ribs, oven-roasted chicken, and pork sausage served with beans, corn on the cob, creamy coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and freshly baked corn bread.

Is that not a truck load of food? Seriously, you could probably feed your entire family with this bad boy....the food here at Whispering Canyon Cafe have a great "BBQ" flavor/taste to them. The chicken is especially good, it's full of flavor. You won't find a clean rib on my husband's plate-by the time he's done, you could probably put a full pig back together. Not the biggest fan of the beans- I like my beans to be a little more "saucy," and for the sauce to be a little more thick. Might be a Missouri thing- there's some of the best BBQ (and beans) to be found around here, so maybe that's why I'm a little particular.

The cost? Just $19.99. I think that's a steal. Also, if you are on the Dining Plan, you can pick it as your meal. It's all you can eat- while you might have more selection at a buffet, it's also double the price at a buffet as well. Here's a place where you can really fill your belly after hitting the parks in the morning.

On top of that, the atmosphere at Whispering Canyon Cafe is great. The waiters are a little bit ornery here- and they always keep you guessing what's next. Check out what happened when someone at this table asked for ketchup!
